BIO
The Soles are a Rock & Roll Band. A Joyfully, spiritually, politically, agonizing, desiring, groovy, seedling, suckling, chrysalis mushroom of a naively delusional desire for a better world, kind of band.

Since their formation date of February 16 2001, The Soles have been honing their incendiary, soulful and energetic live act. Strewn into the mix is a sensibility (or delusion) that makes this band believe they can change people’s lives through songs. “Maybe I’m just satisfied that we’ve allowed our music to consistently speak to that urgency,” say’s lead singer Din.
The songs their recently released album 'You Burst Into Fire Again’ (Remastered) LP DinArts, 2009 were recorded over a three-year period. The album features the lead track Sky (In The Name Of You), which was co-written and produced by Marc Nadjiwan. The song was directly inspired by a First Nations No-Uranium blockade dispute near Ottawa, Ontario. Din was moved by the commitment of the Native's and the Settlers there to work in harmony with each other to defend their exploitation of their land. YBIFA also includes Coals, which has received much US radio airplay alongside Sky. It has also generated some college radio play across Canada.
Many of the songs on this debut album express the challenges of dealing with depression. On tracks like Sunburst, Coals and Pain, lead singer/songwriter Din has taken the risk to utterly expose this reality, "Depression has been with me for over a decade, and I realized had a choice to heal myself; I chose to make absolutely sure I solved the problem." After four years of treatment, Din is now healed and is allowing the music to spread a message that there are solutions available; all one has to do is choose to find them. The Song on YBIFA all speak of this theme. Recorded from summer 2004 to spring 2008, this album chronicles that journey - finding help, friends, band-mates and even a little hope & joy along the way.
The Soles are currently making demo’s for their next record with producer Marc Nadjiwan
